Lina chose to attend IUPUI because of the universities’ inclusive environment, undergraduate research opportunities, and its urban location within the city. “To me, being a Bepko Scholar means providing service to others, focusing on volunteerism, and giving back to the community,” Lina says. Lina believes that education is a privilege and she would like to expand opportunities for education in the community. As a Bepko Scholar, Lina hopes to create an inclusive environment where everyone can succeed and positively influence each other. In high school, Lina created a nonprofit organization that provided free menstrual products to high schools. She also organized and led a food and hygiene product drive that benefited the Mary Lee Maier Food Pantry. Lina hopes to study artificial intelligence at the graduate level after obtaining her computer science degree from IUPUI.
